About Me

Writer, researcher, data interpreter, traveller, singer, dancer, crafter

International Writer and Researcher

I am Sofia Sanders, a 2021 MS graduate of Global Media & Cultures from Georgia Tech, with a specialization in Russian. Inspired by my fascination with global cultures and research information, I plan to pursue a professional career in international media & information improvement. While attaining my degree I also acted as co-editor for the Georgia Tech Speculative Fiction Journal Hivemind, designing the website from scratch and curating my own collection. Since graduation, I am usually researching career possibilities when I’m not catching up on travel, cooking, music, dance, or (musical) theatre, and have (so far) taught myself to crochet, maintain an aquarium, care for curls, and grow herbs.

This online portfolio serves to document and display my explorations of media & research studies. Most notably, I’ve optimized my graduate thesis investigating the Russian media’s framing and coverage of the pro-Navalny/anti-Putin protests in 2021 in both English and Russian.
